Step 1 The first step ( unless your location will have severe drainage issues) is to install a bed of Class II Permeable Road Base at a rate of 3 to 6 inches deep Step 2 This decomposed granite material is installed over a bed of Class II Permeable Road Base at a rate of 2 to 3 inches deep. Step 3 The next step is to install the bocce ball court surface either of Bocce Ball Court Oyster Shell & Decomposed Granite Blend or pure 1/4" minus red, gold or silver decomposed granite is applied over this coarse decomposed granite at rate of 1-1/2 to 3 inches deep. . This is a true premium quality decomposed granite material not a crushed rock fines material and that is why it may appear more expensive than "rock dirt" sold locally at other stone and landscape supply yards.
This product and similar materials are best used at the rates of: 1 Ton per 90 square feet in a 3 inch deep layer. 1 Cu. Yard per 115 square feet in a 3 inch deep layer.
